Please suggest me 2 Helichoerus + 2 fairy peaceful wrasses.

Hi,

I am considering adding 4 wrasses to my 195 gallons sps tank. I would like to your sugestions on 2 Helichoerus and 2 fairy peaceful not too expensive wrasses. Thank you:thumbsup:

I personally love my dusky wrasse (see my avatar) it has a very distinct swimming style very different from the other helichoeres. Lots of fin movement almost worm like and not stiff like a yellow coris It also spends the day inspecting every nook and cranny of the rock work looking for food.
Now if you want something that stands out go with a yellow coris. Few fish are as noticeable from across the room as a yellow coris.
Another very interesting wrasse that is just gorgeous is the melanurus.

I say get all 3!

Yes a yellow coris looks great.

Anyone has experience with a radiant wrasse ? They look handsome. Please share your opinions

From this list which one would be your choice as a peaceful and beautiful wrasse ?

Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis
Cirrhilabrus Aurantidorsalis
Cirrhilabrus lyUkyuenses

Dont have much experience with fairy wrasses other than Cirrhilabrus Aurantidorsalis, it was a very peaceful and beautiful fish. For some reason Ive never really been able to keep fairy wrasses long term.

Im wondering why you havent considered any of the leopard wrasses. All are beautiful and never bother a single tank mate. They arent overly difficult as long as you find a specimen that is eating at the store.

woohh...you considered Macropharyngodon meleagris the easiest leopard although it is labaled by liveaquaria as "expert only", which obviously i am not... at this point i wold prefer to choose hardier fishes. What fairy wrasses would you suggest ?

The problem with leopards is finding a healthy specimen that is eating at the LFS before purchasing. They are not expert fish by any means. I start off mine by feeding live brine or cyclopeze and then move them up to mysis. If you have plenty of live rock this should sustain them for awhile since they are always picking pods off of the rock.

Im going by fish that Ive had easy success with....If i can keep it alive it must be a hardy fish...lol

Pyle's Fairy Wrasse....Ive had a pair of these once. They were pretty easy, and peaceful. the only reason why i dont have them is because i was in a small tank for a while.
