Lion fish

What kind of other fish would be good choices to live with a lion?

Does anyone know if 2 lions can be in same tank?

If it's a volitans, and I can't tell, it'll get to be about a foot long, and you could probably keep two in a larger tank, but in a 55g, I'd say one at most. The lions won't fight.

Any tankmate had better be the size of the lion, or it might be lunch. LiveAquaria.com has some compatibility guides.

Why did you get a fish but not know what it is?

uhmmm... i know that its a lion fish (that is kinda obvious)... m just checking if its the common volitans or the russell's...

i was looking at the pics and they somehow look the same

No offense was intended. Maybe the fish got pawned off to you as a friend had trouble with their tank, or some other reason.

It's hard to tell if that is a Volitan or Russell's. The fins of the Russell's are more fleshy than that of a Volitan and they also don't have the colored banding in the fins as much.

Yes, as long as the tank is appropriately sized. Many people of lion tanks with several lions. In the wild, sometimes hunt in packs, so they are used to being in groups but still need individual space.
