Plug put in sump water

One of my kids unplugged one of my reef lights and somehow the end of the plug ended up inside the sump water overnight (he basically just dropped it in the sump rather than dropping by the plug outlet well outside the sump). Will this kill the Kessil light? Or if I dry it out may it be ok?

Dry it out.. (Throw in bag of rice overnight) and it will be fine..

It can cause a short if you plug it in and if there is still water inside the prong housing..
I'd hope that the prongs are sealed and there is probably no issue that a quick shake wouldn't solve but I'm not there to physically examine the outlet/prongs/seals..

But let it dry and you will be fine..

What you meant to say is:

Gimme a dry dishtowel, Qtip, Bag of rice and a hair dryer.

We're gonna make this right.

I would have just blown it off and plugged it right in personally..

But close.. Gum wrapper, Toothpick, Potato. :)

If there was any concern I would just cut off the end and put a new one on..

Rice is a good idea. I'll do that. Thanks! Don't really want to get a new light as the one I have was perfectly good (still is I hope).
