I'm fairly new to this hobby, I started my tank in jan of this year. So needless to say I'm quite lost in this idea. My plan is to replace my 29 gallon with a 40 gallon breeder. Build a minimal stand that suits the decor of my house. I want all gear to be in the closet with the sump so I have a very clean look - tank, stand, in-take and out-take. I'm thinking about buying a rimless acrylic 40 gallon breeder with a built in overflow, rather than a drilled glass 40 breeder.
I have a really good understanding of sump design but I haven't got my head around the plumbing aspect. The tank sits about 6-9' from the closet so I'm assuming gravity and overflow water pressure wouldn't be sufficient to send the water to the sump? Would the out-take pump be in the sump pulling water, or similar to my hang on fuge where the pump sits in the tank and pushes water into the fuge?
I know this is a lot, if any of you have any experience in anything like this would be great to hear your ideas.
