plumbing/glass drilling????

I am adding another tank and connecting to the sump of my 220 and had some questions.

I am going to add another external pump for the new tank and want to tee it in to the sump with at the same connection point as the existing pump. I am thinking that the 1" bulkhead and line will need to be enlarged to add the additional pump and was thinking I should go to a 1.5" bulkhead and then tee off to two 1" lines.

If this is not neccesary please let me know as I am nervous about taking the system down and redrilling the 75 sump bulkhead hole with a dremel. and if something goes wrong ******

I picked up some diamond bits at harbor freight in preperation for the job and have done a little research on this but most said this is a pain.

looking for suggestions from people who have tried drilling tanks.

Jorge you shouldnt have any problem w drilling the tank using the bit. I have drilled 15+ holes over the year and never have any problem, just take it slow and start the. It at an angle.

I have not drilled a tank yet but when I added my 90 gallon into the system, I just added a mag 9 to the sump and plumbed the two lines in. Don't know if that's what you're trying to do but its fast and easy.

Jorge,
You may consider just capping the existing fitting. Often it is easier to drill a new hole than to ream out an existing one.

this has been suggested to by another as well and I think this is the route I will be taking, anyone happen to have a hole saw for a 1.5" bulkhead
