Im installing a new 55 gallon sump, but I want to put it in a closet that is about 4 feet from the tank...Is this possible or will it restrict the overflow to much.

It is possible, you just need to figure out what size pump will shoot the water that far (if an upgrade is possible/needed). This works pretty well...... http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/hlc2.php

yes I will most likely need a bigger pump, as long as I keep it fairly slanted going to the sump I should be fine I think.
