plumbing question

Good evening all,
Can anyone tell me if (2) 1" drains can provide enough volume to keep up with a barracuda pump.
I have to use an odd set up due to the limits of space in my classroom. The pump will be returning water about 3 1/2' up plus a horizontal run of about 8'. I am not sure how much a horizontal run works against the head pressure calculations.

if that is not enough please advise. Same for return volume too please. I was thinking (4) 1" pipes to help direct circulation.

thanks for your time and help

Would probably be better off reversing your thinking with 4 drains and 2 returns. You could split the returns with tees when they get through the glass if you wanted to direct the flow a bit more. You will need more than two 1" drains for that pump unless you run them as a full siphon but then you would need emergency drains too.

You could upsize your drains to 1.5 or 2" if you have the space. That should keep up with the pump. I think that pump has a 2" inlet.
