Plumbing the sump outside along with the return pump

Im moving my tank to my new place and I want to plumb the return pump outside through the window that will be behind the tank. ( the sun doesnt hit the window and it will be cover to be safe)
now I know if i do that i will have to prime the pump since the sump will be underneath the tank and the pump will be outside at window level. Today I was thinking if it was wise to put the sump outside aswell on a table or platform at window level covering the sump with screen so that nothing can fall in but yet it can still get the gas exchange needed. Its just a thought there might be a huge amount of factors that im not thinking of that wont allow it. any advice or info on how i could pull it off would be greatly appreciated.

I will have a chiller for the heat issue.

If I was soing anything outside I would make sure to insulate the hell out of everything. I don't really know what your winter/summer temperatures are, but you don't want to get severe temp swings due to the enviornmental changes

true I didnt even think about that. It is Hot most of the time and winters arnt bad. I live in south texas so its hot mostly year round every once in awhile it will go below 50's for 2 days or so but yeah that would be a whole challenge of its own to maintain the temp of the tank constant. I guess i will just plumb the pump outside the window and cover it to keep the rain out but allow air to flow through.

I was thinking if someone got mad easy access to destroy your tank without even entering your house. No way don't do it.

I doubt anyone would hate you enough to do what mcox has suggested, but if not outside where would you put the sump? No matter what you'd want the pump lower than the water surface in the sump, or else you'd have to prime it every time you lost power, unplugged it, etc. This just sounds like an all-around bad idea.
