Plumbing to sump

So i have put together a few tanks now and i know the method i plan to use. My issue and where i would like some advice is in how i should connect my open channels to the sump. I have a dual corner overflow tank with two 1" bulkheads in each for a total of 4 bulkheads. I plan to use a full siphon and an open channel in each overflow (example picture attached). I have an icecap 48xl (picture attached) sump that only has two 1" intakes to the filter sock area. I will plumb my full siphons to the established intakes however that will mean there are no other intakes to use for the other two drains. I'm unsure what i should do with my 2 open channel drains. I will have a gate valve on each full siphon to dial it down so a trickle flows through the open channel. I have used this method before but the trickle causes a lot of noise when placed above the water level.

What's your opinion? Keep the opens above the water level so i can hear if there is a blockage when they become a raging waterfall of a full siphon? Or plumb slightly below the water level to keep it quiet.

Also my returns will be plumbed up and over the back.

I see from your pic of your sump and was wondering if you can drill the other side of the sump, looks like you have room to install the other two drains, just a thought i can't really tell unless i see it in person i have the same overflow setup but my four 1in lines drain down to the basement into a 100gallon food safe vat sump , good luck

I would think that adjusting two siphons to get a trickle down the open channel(s) would be tricky, but probably can be done. As the above poster mentions, I would try to drill another inlet for an open channel that drains just slightly under the waterline for silence, and leave the remaining channel dry for an emergency "œbean-type" drain. Letting this one drain above the waterline would give you an audible clue something was wrong if it activates.

With it having two separate overflows it each overflow will operate independently. So having a full siphon and an open in one i would need a full siphon and an open in the other for it to operate correctly.
