plus ll ex firmware 4.08 wih new AI lights

I have 2-6 weeks until I get me new AI fixture. I was reading on aquariumcomputer site these will not work together. I am using he USB connection from the controller to the PC. Will this work OK for the update and will I lose all settings currently? What do I need to do I have had this controller for only a few days.

Actually i was wrong firmware is 4.05. Should I do the 5.0 for the II ex? If so what do I need to do?

ok since the upgrade looks like my software is 5.0.0.8 is that the latest?
