PM white polyps?

I thought the PM was suppose to have white polyps, but the tiny arse little frag I got hasnt purplish brown polyps. It was sold to me as the "real" thing and from a reputable retailer. Do I just need to give it some time for the polyps to change? I got it about 3 weeks ago or maybe a little longer.

I don't have a purple monster so I can't comment on that. However if the dealer advertised a picture on its website, and you did not receive what you expected? I think you should contact them with your disapointment.

I will though say that I have a frag of an ORA Blue Tort from a swap a year ago. Now mind you this frag grew into a nice mini colony but under my lighting it turned tri colored. Green base, purple stalks with deep blue tips. The polyps are a more whitish color as well.

Here is the kicker, well maybe not but strange.... My buddy gave me the original colony that the frag came from a year ago Night and day in color's.... It is more deep blue and had purple polyps. I know this really doesn' answer your question nor help you out. I just wanted to share my experience with coloration change from one tank to another or from lighting....

But again, can you post a pic of what the vendor advertised and say a pic of what you have exactly. Is the vendor running similar lighting as you as well? Just curious?

The Tyree purple monster does have white polyps, but sometime seem brownish. Here is mine.

yes the polyps do look white sometimes and sometimes they look brown

After moving my frag to a new system last February, most of the polyps became brown on mine:

Even now, only the polyps at the tips are white again. Yours might just need more time

yup the pollyps do turn brown when its changed around. my frag had some awsome white/green color to them when I got it and when I put it in my tank they slowly turn brown but now it getting the white again. If you have a picture that would realy help us out.

This is the frag i got from Geofloors True purple monster. I ended up selling becuase i moved wish i would have kept it. Any one got a frag?

I just fragged mine from Geofloors 20 minutes ago for our local club. I'm auctioning it off at my tank tour this Sunday. By the way, George lost his colony.
