Well, after adding my Mandarin and Diamond Goby my tank population of pods appears to have diminished. There's still quite a few spawning in the sump, but I'm afraid it's not enough. I ordered the buy 500 pods get 500 free from Reefs2go today. I've read a lot of good reviews about them. I'll update everyone as soon as I receive my shipment this week.
 
How much was it with shipping? I did the 2K pkg and saved 1K for a stand-alone pod tank, but I haven't gotten the pod tank up quick enough to have a successful survival rate :P
Maybe we'll bump up the order and split some, cause I don't think it'll be enough to seed. If you do keep the order the same, I would go 500 in the DT and 500 in the fuge.

Edit: My package from them was well packed and full of life :)
 
Let me know how this works out. I'm also interested in boosting my pod population back up since the wrasse I had pretty much wiped them out.

I've been reading a little bit about starting a pod culture in my spare 10 gallon. It seems pretty simple...pods, air stone, phyto. Is that what you had going Jay ?

Yup! I wish I had the time to make the whole shebang and have live phytocultures and such, but I'll just try without and feed phytofeast and food every so often. I may or may not have chaeto in there for them to chillax in...Idk, I just gotta get off ma butt so ma mandis don't starve.
 
I've gotten the 1000 pod package before and it was a BOGO free deal. It's hard to count copepods but I could see that the material did contain some amipods. Did it all add up to 1000? Who knows. They're shipped in filter media so it hard to tell.
 
Got my order today and there were significantly more amipods than last time. Again copepods are hard to count but I'm pretty satisfied with my order.
 
The petco on clybourn with the reef tank also sells copods... i think like 20 bucks for 1k or something, you have to ask for them as they are obviously not sitting out.
 
Order received and looks great. Purchased Monday and delivered Thursday. There has to be at least the 1000 pods in there as advertised. I put one bag in the refugium and one bag in the tank. My mandarin will be excited...if he's not already. I would definitely order again from Reefs2go.
