Pods Online

I placed an order for getyourpods.com Wednesday last week I still haven't gotten a tracking number. Sent an email to the customer services yesterday. Hopefully I'll hear back from them

So now that Reefs2go has apparently gone from bad to worse, anyone have any suggestions where to get pods online?

I'm reading conflicting things about oceanpods.com and getyourpods.com. Any experiences?

HumbleFish, I just placed a couple orders with Get Your Pods (Feb 28th) and Reef Cleaners (Feb 24th).

Both shipped in a timely manner and didn't have any complaints from either of them.

Get Your Pods sent me a crap load of Amphipods. There were a lot of them. Still have a ton of them in my sump, DT, and Pod tank. Everytime I change media in a reactor, move a rock, stir my sand, change filter in HOB on Pod tank.....the Amphipods are literally everywhere!

Copepods are so small and I like to order the ones that you can see. Red ones or tibse are good for my scooters, but they will hunt them all day and night.

Anyway, I would order from either of them again. No issues!

reefs2go.com is a rip off. they have twice not shipped out what i ordered, and instead of refunding my money i had to fight them over several weeks to get my money back. instead of refunding me money they gave an in-store credit. they do not answer their phone. i will not use this company again, period.

Same experience, not sure if there were even any copepods in there, it seemed like it was all amphi. I ordered 2 bogo's there were so many my mandarin got bloated, literally I think he ate waaaay too many. He couldn't even descend from the surface.

Did they send you a tracking number? I placed an order last wednesday and still no update from them whatsoever

I placed a order with getyourpods last Wednesday or Thursday as well and have yet to receive any information about the shipment. I have emailed them twice and called with no response. I put in a dispute with paypal just now so Im waiting to see if they get a response if nothing I will file a claim to get my money back. It just seemed like to good of a deal guess that's what happens dealing with the unknown.

OK, so it's starting to look :thumbdown for getyourpods.com.

I contacted oceanpods.com last week, and those people want $16 S&H for a $25 bottle of pods.

So it's starting to look more & more like reefcleaners.org will be getting my business.

Live aquaria sells pods, I'm not sure how they compare price wise, but I bet you'd be pleased with the customer service.

Are pods something that are required to buy extra. Besides the ones the tank already produces? or is this for Pod eating fish?

That's funny! There were some very tiny Copepods, but a crap load of Amphipods!

The tank can't produce pods unless you add them to ur system and they are able to breed. You buy them extra unless you just happen to get some great cheato algae full of pods or some LR that was full of them. Even then, the populations dissappear with pod eating fish and you have to buy more. Or you can set up a pod tank like I've done.

Pods are for picky eaters like mandarins, scooter blennys, pipe fish, etc.

Any updates from those of you who recently placed an order with getyourpods.com? This place looked like a good option until I read some of your recent reviews...

Sent them an email on tuesday around 5 PM EST asking if there was any updates on the order and when it will ship. Didnt get any replies so I opened a paypal dispute on Thursday 3 PM EST asking for any updates. This is the reply I got:

Hello

"I do apologize for any late rrsponse . our packages ship out in the order they are received. We have not forgotten about you. Our shipping days are Monday and Tuesday so your package will not stay in the post office an extra day due to the popular 2 day shipping method. Your order will be arriving on Tuesday if you would still like your package. Thank you and have a great day!"

Yeah I'm still hoping the order is fulfilled so I haven't escalated the paypal dispute. I did reply to that message asking why there wasn't any communication until the dispute was opened, but it seems like their customer service is only open monday to thursday at least according to the website

It's probably just some guy trying to do it all, working out of his house or something. Please do update this thread when/if you receive your order. I am still weighing my options. I literally had to stop myself from rolling the dice on reefs2go just yesterday; they were doing another one of their BOGO free pod offers. It's a shame... their demise has left a huge "pod void" that needs to be filled. ;)

Just my opinion. I placed an order with Reef Cleaners last week and received them a few days later. My impression with them is to save your $$ and shop elsewhere:

1 Penny Macroalgae.
Not worth a penny, a single or two strands of red algae. I think they should give it out for free instead.

Pods+ ($10)
"This product is for a mix of available copepods, and other zooplankton from our system used to replenish the microfauna in your mature system, or to seed a new tank."
No diversity, some tiny copepods but no amphipods... Many copepods were not mobile, presumed DOA.

I should have taken some pics to share... maybe "I get what I pay for", but for ~$20 shipped; sorry, not a 2nd chance.
