Pointers on Vortech Pump

I made my first impulse buy in months (boy did that feel
good!) and purchased a Vortech "magnetic" pump earlier
this week. Someone apparently ordered it from the LFS
and had second thoughts (at $350.00 it is a little steep),
but being a strict "no cords in tank" kinda guy and having
some flow issues I had to have it.

Anyway, I got it home to discover it had no manual/instructions.
It did have a small paper insert instructing me to change out
a washer if my glass was 3/4" which I did. It also had
verbage on the "spacer" on the outside unit saying
"don't use this spacer if glass is 5/8 or 3/4", follow instructions
in manual.

Question,

Is the changing of the washer in the fan assembly all that is
necessary ( I hope so , cause I fired that baby up last night
and all seems OK )

Also, I've heard of an upgrade to the speed control that is
"programmable".

Any feed back about either is appreciated.

As long as you adjusted for the glass thickness with the dry side you should be all set.

I have a Vortech but I am not sure about your situation. Post this on the Vortech forum of this website and they will answer your question in minutes. Vortech themselves will most like answer your question.

Spoke to the LFS this morn and they faxed the instructions.
Turns out I did need to remove the spacer.

Thanks for the link, they are out of stock and say they are
the only source for upgrade. Is that true??
