Polishing acrylic

I just bought a second hand 75 gal acrylic tank that is slightly hazy because of scratches in the acrylic.
When its filled with water the smaller scratches are hardly noticeable, i just wondered if anyone had any luck buffing these out?

it can be done, but it will need alot of elbow greese. I would pick up Novus #2 and 3, 2 for smaller scratches, and 3 for bigger ones.

if you have a buffer, itd be the easier to do.

i have a polisher/sander that i used.

but FWIW, i also bought a 100 gallon tank with scratches. and as i got into trying to buff them out, it just became WAY too long.
i ended up paying like 250$( OUCH!) to get the scratches buffed out professionally.
