Poll 4 Best a Trigger

Finntyla I've got an awsome photo of a BL'd Trig that I think would come close.I wish I could say the same about the coral thing. I had left 1 coral in our 100GL to see if they would leave it alone and after weeks of no diruption. The Hummu grabs the biggest mouthful, starts swimming backwards, and starts violently shaking his head.

wish we could get them here in the US.....Blue spot Trigger (balistes punctatus)

yeah,bluey green eyes .........absolutely stunning.

My theory is that if you get them small enough, and i mean small, then they become used to you being their food source and leave the other stuff alone.
Like i said he is in with mainly softs but there is a couple of large montipora and several 'clumps of seritapora and he really has not sampled anything.
Smaller snails have become snacks but large turbos are left alone and i have a certain snail species that breeds so rapidly that they became a pest ...........untill enter the blueline!.
He keeps the shallow sandbed clean but does tend to move a few pieces of rubble about that have lots of golden bush on them but it tends to frag them all over the place.
Feeding time can be a little harrowing for the other fish as this is the only time any aggression is shown but they have learnt to avoid him.
I am sure that as he grows more from his present beefy 6" he will become more destructive but at the moment he is a model citizen and ......at risk of getting flamed.....there are 2 blood shrimp,1 huge boxer and an arrow crab in with him that have been there for the 14 months i have had him.

Superb fish

Cool Finntlya keep us updated. Not too many people have housed a BL from juvy till old age death. If you want send me your email addy and I'll send pics through msn of the BL.

I'd have to go with the Clown Trigger. Stunning colors patterns and a personality to match that only get better with age . Defiantly one of the most bizarre looking fish in the sea IMO. And "Clown" perfectly matches the way it looks with all those eye catching large white pokedots. I've had mine from less than an inch to present at 7 inches and it defiantly is a fish that one gets attached to.

Chalk my vote up for niger. Mine changes colors from morning to evening and really looks great under actinics. Real friendly fish as well and not scared of mine/nor anyone elses presence at all. Hes still just a little guy though (3").

Clown trigger. In my opinion there is no more impressive looking adult fish than a big 15-20" clown trigger. Their colors get better and better as they grow.
Same here but they loose there color as they get bigger in the tanks.

I agree, mine has the coolest personality! It's like he struts around the tank, anytime someone comes up to the tank he is right up front saying look at me! I hand feed him and after he eats he wants me to pet him! Didn't realize how social triggers can be.

I'm gonna have to say queen, i had one for a couple of years and the little booger would play tug-a-war with a rubberband. see was one of the coolest fish i have ever had.

I wanted a mellow trigger and bought a niger trigger. he seems pretty nice, I looked him over in my tank and he only has one eye. I was going to send him back but I thought if he has one eye he might me less aggressive.

Crosshatch.

Tankmates, reef safe, non agressive and great personalities. The best of everything IMO.
