What do you think is the best background for a reef tank?

I voted Blue, I actually pait mine baby blue.

Blue. It makes it more realistic, like your tank goes on for infinity in the ocean.

I love the blue.. I think it makes things "pop" more in the tank... I don't like the black.. but I have heard other reefers feel that the black makes things "pop" more :lmao:
I guess its all preference! and what corals/fish you have :lol2:

I painted mine black 14 months ago. You wouldn't know it know though. The entire back wall of the tank is covered in coraline.

I have 2 blue acro frags at the top of my rock and they were lost in the blue. Plus everything in the tank had to compete eith the blue background. Black foes away with that. It makes for the best contrast for everything in front of it

I voted black. I think it makes the corals "pop" more. I've had black & blue FWIW. Foam/rock walls can look good when done right.

ok, so is this the dumbest thing ever - Im in the process of sponge painting the back of my new 75 gallon all different colors of the reef. I figured eventually like sugar magnolia said, it's gonna be covered with coraline algae. We also did the bottom as I'm going bare bottom.
