How do you stop polyps that were on a bunch of live rock I bought a while back from taking over the tank?

They keep spreading and has taken over almost half of the rock in my 15 gal tank!!!!

do you have a pic? they are definatley polyps and not aptasia? sometimes the look similar, if they are polyps, sell or trade them, how long did it take for them to spread like that:?

You could remove them physically. I'd wear gloves for sure. If you're very desperate, you could treat them like Aiptasia...

deffinatly polyps, i have 3 diff kinds and mine havent spread very much in about a year, i think you have perfect conditions for them to thrive, which can be a blessing, im guessing you dont want that many, which gives you 2 options pluck them off wearing gloves or get a bigger tank and it will look like you have barley any

I love the sunfire ones in the back, but its just too much for my 15 gal. do people trade for these polyps?

the polyps grew from a few scattered on a some live rock about 9 months ago.....what other corals need the same conditions or will compete with the polyps?

Many soft corals should do well in the same setup. Xenia, Actinodiscus, Sinularia, and many others.

be carefull with the xenia. if you think your polyps are outta control. xenia can spread like a weed(i speak from experince) if polyps do well in your tank trade in some of what you have and get some differant kinds.

will other soft corals placed near the polyps keep them under control or will they get over run??

i doubt they will keep it under control. i have had zoas completely surround xenia.
