polyps throwing up?

all the polpys on my acros have recently started spitting out brownish black stingy mucas like stuff any idae what this is? how t make it stop?

Actually, I bet it is getting rid of excess zooxanthellae (simbiotic algae) ajusting to your lights...

Sounds like zoo expulsion.....did you change your lighting/bulbs?

i added 150w vho actincs about 4 days ago?

If you didn't acclimate and just added the lights, they are expelling zooz. Be careful they don't bleach....

Agreed. I had that happen once on a bulb exchange and immediately put a screen over the tank and cut down the photo period and the zoo expulsion stopped. Within a week or two I took the screen off then slowly ramped up the bubls...never made that mistake again
