Hey all, just was taking some photos today, and was going to show you a nice color transition in just a few weeks. My tank is about 2 months old now and I picked up some sps on July 5, 10. This is a Ponape Birdsnest, which I wasn't positive when I bought it. The first picture was taken on July 5, second on July 15, and the today, July 25. It looks like it will have some nice coloration. Anyone else digging this coral? Show some photos. Thanks

Yep, that's a nice one! Its one of my favorites in my tank. The coloration you've acheived is great, that's exactly what its supposed to look like! Nice work.

nice thats how mine colored up altho it seems to be a suuuuuuuuuper slow grower for me, but at least its not dying and has nice color

Here is a old pic of my Ponape BN. Fast grower for me.

Very nice colony Mavjoy. Tate, I don't think there is a secret. This tank is newer, I just placed it up under the 250w 14k phoenix, a little above mid tank. I feed coral frenzy twice a week. It probably just lost a lot of color in the store. It seems like it's going to grow fairly fast, but you never know.

I wish my ponape would color up like that. Mine has stayed green with purple polyps. Maybe I don't have a ponape afterall? Mine does grow pretty quick though.

WOW that thing colored up wonderfully! And the growth in just 20 days is unbelievable! I second what tate says what is ur secret?! Can you post all your water parameters and your equipment if you dont mind? I just bought a "pink milli" that is browned out and im hoping to get it to color up soon thats awsome check mine out now and you can see it again soon when i post an update. Good work !

Hey Twelve, my tank is a 34G Solana. I have the new ReefBrite Pendant, with a 250w phoenix bulb, and 38w of blue LEDs (come with pendant). The tank is pretty much stock, except for modifying the skimmer. I have an MP10 for flow, on reefcrest mode. I have liverock in the skimmer chamber and liverock in the middle chamber, no fuge on this tank. I keep the parameters as close as possible to this: Salinity 1.025, KH 9, PH 8.1-8.2, CA 420, Mag 1320, Nitrates may be a little high, I have a cheap Tetra test kit, it says 0 but.. Phophates unk. I use Bulk Reef Supply Recipe 1 to maintain levels. Do a weekly 10% -15% water change, using Instant Ocean salt. Also, run carbon in a filter sock in rear chamber. I feed Spectrum pellets for food and mysis shrimp a couple days a weeks. I feed Coral Frenzy a couple days a week, and add coral accel once a week. Have 2 fish, pajama cardinal and lawnmower blenny. Also, a cleaner shrimp. CUC is 10 snails and 5 crabs. The tank is newer, 2 months old. To be honest, I was surprised of the color change myself in such a new tank.
