Ponape Birdsnest Placement Biocube

Hey all...

So I recently purchased a small pink tip ponape frag from a friend. I currently run a 14 gallon biocube with 150 Watt LED Kessil lighting system. I had placed the ponape about mid tank and noticed that most of the coral had turned a tan color while some of the branches remained a nice lime green with pink tips. However, I decided to move it to the lowest level of my tank and not directly under the light. As of now, its about a foot 1/2 away from my lighting. Any tips? Thanks!

I have a few mini colonies of the ORA Ponape Birdsnest in my 29G Biocube. I've found that they grow fast in all light levels. But I find coloration the most stunning high up in the tank near my LEDs (3 Ecoxotic Panorama Pros). The Tan color will show at lower light levels. Keep all your levels consistent and it will grow rapidly.

Also, I have a 1 magenta/blue ecoxotic Panorama Pro. The magenta LEDs make the pink tips really pop.

The kessil a150 is 32w not 150w.
Generally the ponape is a lower light SPS, it will take some time to color up. I'd say mid way up sounds about right.

Mine grows anywhere. I have it near the bottom in my BC 14. Here is 6 months of growth to get you excited....

It's even more massive now. The bigger it gets, the faster it grows. I need to start fragging soon!
