Pond liner frag tank? reef safe?

Ive been wanting to set up a new frag style tank,...mainly to keep my mother colonies in... Then i can get my mothers out of my current 3ft by 8ft by 1.5ft frag tank from advanced acylics and into new set up leaving me more room for frags!

Does pond liner leach anything into water? I was thinking of using this left over pond liner I have over a wood trough I would build.
Is this a bad idea?

Still considering pond liner just because I have some... But I'm throwing down a lil cash for a sweet fiberglass tank,...hopefully with window.

Still want to know if anyone has been successful with using pond liner to line a coral grow system.....?

I used a pond liner for about 7 months and everything was fine. I know people who have used it much longer. Non were coral grow systems. I had mushrooms, zoas, leathers and toadstools. They were doing great until I added a puffer.

One thing to think about is water circulation. Pumps don't stick well to the liner. Closed loop is the way to go.

we had a shop with a 40 foot coral pond in the center he used pond liner and put the thin plastic shower wall over that to keep the live rock from poking the liner
