Being in the garage like that, there hasn't been any problems with exhaust from the vehicle? You don't make her push the car out, and then start it, do you?

klasiksb - lol.......come on now, I am not that sadistic. Why ruin a perfectly good marriage over a little tank? I just push the car out myself

FFrankie - thanks, I like them too. It was a spur of the moment thing until I have time to build a proper canopy to house the halides and the T5's.

Here is the start of my frag tank build using 3/4" acrylic. It was originally meant to replace the 2 small tanks in the office. But due to increased workload, I simply have no time to keep a separate tank there anymore. Instead, this will be my frag tank tied into the 300, sharing a common sump. Now that I have committed this to be a frag tank, it'll actually work out extremely well because it's rather shallow and meant to be view from the top. Shooting photos in this tank will be a piece of cake.

This will be a braceless tank, hence the 3/4" thick acrylic, with an external overflow. I know it might be a bit of an overkill on the thickness, but I don't want any bowing at all. The over all dimensions will be 32"Lx25"Wx16"H with an internal volume of approximately 45 gallons. The stand has already been built and the tank build started today. I am hoping to have everything glued by Friday and the actual finish work on the tank will start. That's where the hard labor comes in. Anyways, enough talk. Here are some pix from another one of Pook's Kreations

Kenny - your new frag tank/overflow are looking sweet! Your Rancos and your Tunze transformers are looking like a fire hazard on your garage wall though ...

danskim - yep, it was originally planned as a display but now it's going to serve an alternate purpose, also equally well.

Spleen - lol.....yeah, I really need to organize that a little bit better. I am just waiting for everything to be setup so I can finally do it. My famous last words :D

Bart - isn't it so much better having a fish garage for all those unforseen spills and disasters??? I am using Weld-On 4 for frag tank build.

very nice, i know that router and working with acrylic puts out alot of dust which is worst then wood dust. see why you took it out to the yard to shave it :D

Thanks guys. Yeah, it looked like it snowed here in SoCal after I was done :D

The external overflow all done. I still have to add on another piece with the routed teeth later on.

Thanks FFrankie. Couple more things and the tank should be ready for plumbing. I can't wait to set this thing up and clear the sandbed in the 300.

The frag tank is pretty much all done. The external overflow has been glued on. A 1" drain and a 3/4" return has been drilled and bulkheads installed. And a black vinyl was put on to make it a black back. Now all I need to do is the plumbing.
