Great aquarium Kenny. I enjoyed your build a lot. I look forward to more updates. I am curious how the weather is there now that winter is on? Do you have to run heaters 24/7 now in the garage? I look forward to the new light rack build also. Great temporary idea with the pvc.
One more question, will you pull the tang out and let the system go fishless for a few months to end the ich issue?

Thanks everyone and a Happy New Year to all!

Work traveling is still ongoing so only a little is done to the tank each day. But I am pretty much done with the final aquascaping. I'll try to shoot some pix this weekend for more updates.

wabio - natural lighting isn't an option because there is a room above the garage. The garage door is fully insulated and having windows there would only increase the heat problem during the summer.

FFrankie - this winter has been really mild so far no thanks to global warming but it may also mean a hotter summer coming up. Something I am not looking forward to. I don't have heaters in the garage but the tank heaters seem to be on quite a bit. The tank is hovering at 76-77 degrees. The ich issue is finally done, at least for now. The last remaining purple tang is doing fine. I had to break down a couple of office tanks recently and tossed a yellow tang in. It's been fine for the past week. Also threw in a yellow watchman goby at the same time. Any fish in the future will be added slowly.

New shots of the tank from last night. The aquascaping is pretty much done. I am happy with the way it all came out. You can't really see the two separate islands because the sandbed is littered with frags. But once they are gone, they are divided by a channel.

Thanks FFrankie. They get along just fine. Just a little bit of hostility from the purple when the yellow was added. More yellows and other tangs will be added with time.

Yeah, typical purple tang attitude! When you feed nori use two clips one on each end of the tank. That will help with hostility's a bit.

Unfortunately, the purple has little taste for nori. I'll have to spend some time training it soon.

Thanks Eric. Yeah, that's what happens when I have to break down my other tanks and shove everything in here. It'll look a lot cleaner once I build my frag tank and set it up. In terms of a favorite seller, not really. I've bought/traded with many locally and across the country.

Some people have a Fish Room. I have a Fish Garage  Finally moved out the GEO 618 Ca reactor and the MRC (gasp!) kalk reactor to the 300. The stand between the tank and the cabinet is for the new frag tank I am building.
