Poor customer service

I also have dealt w/ PA on many occasions and find thier customer service the BEST of any online company. They bend over backwards and offerd to send you a replacement test kit ...all you pay for is shipping..they asked you what you wanted to do to make an equittable arrangement .... what else could you ask for?

Timgarvey it seems that you have some axe to grind w/ PA and you blame them for your own fault of selecting Priority Mail. You recieved you $3 + test kit w/ no problems...are you now satisfied?

PA Guys- Dont change anything!! One guy spoils it for everyone? I have and will always deal w/ ya'll on all my online purchases :)

Andy

I agree, Maldivan. I have done business with PA for years. Their customer service has always been on a personal level and absolutely EXCELLENT sevice. Just keep up the good work Jason, Rob and crew!

This thread is unreal! Its a shame to see someone bash one of the best online vendors we have due to the fact that they are cheap and took a risk that they were warned about up front! What a freakin joke!

PA we still love ya!

Jim

huh, i order from pa once a month, been doing this for 18 months, they are my number one choice, and always will be..................ive yet to have a problem they didnt go above and beyond to correct...........

Tim, please stop blaming PA for your mistake and your problem. You screwed up the order, took the risk, then you expect PA to fix it. You come here only to blame them. We're not impressed.

For those of you who would expect PA to replace the test kit "because it's only $10.00," I say, "You need to suck it up and buy another test kit. It's only $10.00" Call it bought experience and save yourself the trouble of the disparaging them here.

PA has been reasonable through this unjustified attempt to tarnish their reputation here. As a result, I'm going to give them some business.

Here's the bottom line.....

1. not many posts because I'm smart enough to know I've got more to learn by reading as regards to this hobby

2. As for ustomer service, I think each of us is entitled to our own expectations. My post is to advise others of how PA's standard does not match mine. I think it's reasonable not expect some to insure a $14 purchase for $8.

3. I personally have 5 websites in my business. Even though I've a novice, they are pretty much idiot proof as to addresses. ( yes, that's me calling me an idiot) If you don't enter something, you get an error message. If you enter conflicting info such as city, state, zip, you get an error message.

4. I work in a field on 100% commission and am entirely dependant on the goodwill of my customers for future business. I know of what I speak.

5. I purchased this test kit at a LFS. Paid $3 more plus and hour roundtrip from my office. The exact same kit on my postage meter is 3.2 oz or $1.06 in postage. I was charged $4.85 by PA or $3.79 more for someone to adddress the package. If the USPO is truly at an "at your risk" option, why is PA marking up 4 times the postage cost?

#6 YOU PERSONALLY DIDN'T GIVE PA YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS!!!!!!

Hard to get something to you when YOU CAN'T SUPPLY THE CORRECT ADDRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They ship out LOTS of packages a day and they PRINT the label out put them on the box and send them out the door!

IS IT TO MUCH OF THEM TO EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO SUPPLY THE CORRECT ADDRESS??????

IF you would have done that this thread never would have happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:strooper: :bum: :eek1:

----too bad you dont have a spell check/language feature-----

You have got to be kidding! All this over a $10 test kit that cost another $4-5 to ship. I think I would have gone to a LFS on that one:rolleyes: I was in this forum because I found the PA staff to be extremely helpful and wanted to post them a nice kudo for the help. Regardless of who was right or wrong (and I believe the customer to be in this case) PA has tried to resolve the matter even though I doubt they made much if anything off the sale.

I have been dealing with PA for a couple of years now and they, without a doubt, bend over backwards in every way shape or form to make things right for their customer. This is obvious by the way PA handled this situation. They offered to ship for free plus shipping another test kit. The have done everything in their power to satisfy someone who chose to ship USPS, after being advised against it, and then used the wrong mailing address.

Here is the REAL BOTTOM LINE timgarvey,
1. You screwed up!
2. Now you want something for nothing!

Maybe next time you order you will listen to the shippers advice instead of taking the cheap and uninsured way out.

PS I am teaching my 4 y/o his address at the moment. If you want me to help you out, send me a PM.

KUDOS to PA for going above and beyond for this flake! What city is Suite D anyway? Now if was Suite T, I would assume somewhere down south! :D

PA,

You are the guys who let me come by and pick out my own rock, giving you only two hours notice that I was arriving. I'm pretty sure your website states that I should "Make an appointment." You also went out of your way to make me feel very welcome in your shop (it's NOT a retail outlet.)

You are the guys who charged me an "uncured" price for over 100lbs of live rock because some of it was uncured.

You are the guys who convinced me not to buy the cheap skimmer that you had on sale, but to hold out on buying a better one stating I would be much happier in the long run.

So, you put up with inconvenience, lower price for rock, and a loss on a skimmer sale within 45 minutes.

If that isn't bending over backwards, then I don't know what is.

To the original poster of this thread: No doubt you are irritated, but I think you should direct your frustrations to the USPS. They really don't care about customer service; if they did, then UPS, FedEX, and all the others would never have been as successful as they are now.

i have to agree. PA has to be the best dealer out there. there has never been a time when they dont make it right, even when it is not their fault. Jay and those guys are the best :)

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve been buying from PA for couple of years now and I have to say that their service really is second to none. I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t even bother to write reviews for PA because I would sound like a broken record. Their customer service is outstanding, everyone is very helpful and all of my requests, including the latest one for additional pictures of a pendant I later bought, were accommodated quickly and to my full satisfaction.

In your case, timgarvey, I think you are being little unreasonable yet PA did everything they could to make things right.

Well, some people enjoy complaining and will do so no matter what!!

I am PA's biggest fan! I just bought my new 240 gallon tank from them..I am at their store often [I am lucky to be 10 minutes away] They always go above and beyond to be help me . I have gotten to know many of them and they are a great bunch of guys [and gals]

I agree, looks like the person who started this thread only joined RC to complain. Sorry but his story sounds fishy to me and the fact that he ignored Jasons response tells me that this guy is someone who is rarely satisfied:rolleyes:

Folks - since the original issue has already been resolved, I think that it's appropriate to close this. If you, personally, have a specific issue please start a new thread.

Cheers
