poor fishy anyone with idea's

Maybe HLLE.(stray electrical voltages)
IME this all diet- specifically low iodine in the diet or its improper metabolism( maybe your tang was sick or stressed), perhaps iodine dosing will help. Joe there's no real reason why it happens viral vs bacterial vs who knows. Hope this helps.
BTW sounds strange to me because you probably feed nori and what not to al your tangs-perhaps a change in diet or just a sick and genetically inferior fish LOL:D

I feed 3 types of nori 2 - 3 times a day. ( red, green, brown) I have a stray voltage grounded and why would just those two tangs get it after having them for 4 months? I also add iodine as well.

are they picked on by any of the other larger tangs? maybe a small amount of stress is doing it, since everything else is up to par.

just like I thought- Sorry no other opinions here besides just that particular fish being a genetic freak

try to get it eating something like spectrum...Ive seen pics of fish who have HLLE and within a few months after feeding them the spectrum they are back to normal...

Thanks for the help.

My big question is why just these 2 fish.

Hey Joe,

Try adding some Cod Liver Oil to your food (available at Target and most other pharmacies, you may need to ask, sometimes its behind the counter). Its really rich in Vitamin A, D, and Omega fatty acids, which can sometimes be lacking in a fish's diet, since we don't tend to feed whole fish to our little ones, rather just chopped up fleshy parts. Don't add too much though, it might make your skimmer go a little nutto, so start out gradual.

Our Purple tang went lateral in QT quite bad, and I started supplementing with this, and he pretty much made a full recovery.

Keep testing your parameters though, there might be something obscure that's off in your water.
