Poor polyp extension with strong mesenterial filament

As the title suggests, I'm struggling since transeferring my stock from a 40 to a 75 gal. Most sps are showing loss of color with browning and little polyp extension. Upon feeding the tank there is a strong mesenterial response.

Tank has been mapped with a par meter so that should help with placement.

Tank and husbandry info as follows

75 gallon DT with 20 l sump. Fuge with macros and dsb
RO nwb 150 skimmer
Mp40 on lagoon
Wp25 on else
Finnex heater
Reef radiance lumentek 180 lights. 2 for full coverage
Ato with kalk
50 ml vinegar dosed over 12 hrs with brs doser

Sg 1.024+ (need to bring up)
Alk 7.3
Ca 410
Mag 1320
Ph 8
Nitrate 2
Phos .02

Stock includes sps, acans, zoas and 2 small chalices. Cuc and 6 fish 3" and under.

Thanks and lemme know if u need any further info

You don't say how much your feeding the tank. I see your carbon dosing and your nitrates and PO4 are inline, if it were me I would feed the corals for two weeks and see what happens.

Ah yes!

I feed the fish and corals 2x a day at least.

Morning feeding is typically dainichi pellets and freeze dried cyclopeeze.

Evening is usually mysis or I just started feeding rods food.

I target feed the corals 2x a week with oyster feast or rotifeast and chopped mysis

Recently started adding acro power aminos 1x a week

Check for AEFW. The only time I had these symptoms, I had AEFW in the tank.

Ewww....

Should I dip and see what comes loose? Are there flatworms that ARENT aefw?

A salty noob with years of tanganyikan cichlid breeding behind me, but fairly clueless as to these types of pests. I have read everything under the sun twice, but lack real world experience....

Post a pic of you tank.
Light distance and power
Low cal and alk for sps tank but to each their own...
What are you doing with nitrate in the tank?
Sg is fine just bring up others...

Hello everyone......first post

Calcium and alk and mag are fine, in fact when carbon dosing alk higher than 8.0 can cause problems so stay the course here. S.G. for most lies between 1.025 and 1.026 but there are lots of great tanks in other zones too. Sounds like your feeding plenty. Sometimes the move from a mature tank to a new tank can cause things to fade for a while, if no pests then stay the course and see what happens. Good luck.

I was running alk at 9 but brought it down to this level on purpose over 10 days or so due to burnt tips

Get a turkey baster and blow off the acros. If you see things fly off try to grab one. If they are still frags, pull them out and dip them. Google pics of AEFW. And yes there are different types.

I would do a couple of 25% water changes. generally when sps brown out it takes a few months for them to bounce back

I'm not sure anything is necessarily wrong. When I feed, especially broadcast foods such as Reef Chilli and other phytoplankton sources the mesenterial response is definitely present. And the browning may just come from the switch of livestock and stress resulting from it. When did you upgrade?

Have you calibrated your refractometer recently? Low salinity has resulted in lack of polyp extension in my tank before.

I have a feeling one of those 6 fish is a centropyge angel and maybe a flame in particular, seems every post about polyp extension has that in common

No flame angel, but a cherub. Never seen him chew on anything including the Lps and zoas in the tank. Is it possible, sure, but I'm not convinced.
