Pop eye, should I drain it?

My female Watanabe angel has had pop eye for several months now. It was getting better and almost completely gone last week, but has recently gotten a worse. It just won't seem to go away.
I have no idea of how to treat this other than keeping her well fed and as stress free as possible, but the male is constantly 'courting' her and I know he's stressing her out. I'm trying to catch her and either I'll drain the eye, if that's an acceptable treatment, or I'll place her in the sump for a few weeks to see if it clears up on its own without the stress from the male.
What should I do?
Thanks

I'd start with the sump, and see if that helps. Introducing a needle could admit worse bacteria, and I think that should be a last resort. I take it you have been medicating the condition: there is a treatment for it, but it eludes me at this writing.

I suggest placing the fish in QT and treating with antibiotics ... a double dose of maracyn 2 is often effective in treating some eye related bacterial issues.
