Bacterial infection. Is it one or both eyes?

If one and he is still eating fine you can wait it out or QT and medicate. Of course if it is really bad you can use a hypodermic needle to withdraw the fluid.

If it is both eyes and the fish is not eating this is not good and quick action needs to be taken.

It can be caused by physical injury (one eye) or bad water quality (usually both eyes affected).

Do a search of pop eye and there are some specifics you can look into ie what meds or exactly how to lance the eye. I have never done this but i did get the needle and was prepared to but it did get better on its own (on a regal tang).

it is in just one eye,and he is eating very good.the fish is now in a qt and has been for 2 weeks.it may have happened when he was put in the main tank after the first qt.my purple tang and the angle did not hit it off to good, that is when i saw the pop-eye he may have hit it on a rock or something.how long did it take for yours to clear up?
