I have a lyretail anthia with Popeye. He has been eating and I thought maybe he would be able to fight it off. It is in a 180 with lots of rock work so there is no way to catch and remove to a qt tank. He didn't come out to eat last 2 days and haven't seen him either thinking he had passed. When I fed today I saw him and now it is both eyes. Is there a medication that can be added to a reef display tank to help him but be safe to the corals?

Popeye in both eyes usually denotes infection. Unfortunately, there are no "reef safe" medications you can use to treat this. Is this a FOWLR by any chance?

There are no antibiotics that you can safely use in the presence of corals/inverts. Your only "in tank" option would be to start soaking his food in vitamin supplements (ex. Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem), and hope that boosts his immune system enough to fight the infection off on it's own. However, the odds are not in the fish's favor without QT & antibiotic treatment at this point.
 
I have a buddy with a female Wantanabei that has Popeye in one eye and has for 2 wks or so. It gets better then worse again. I gave him some ciproflaxin to treat her with in a hospital tank. Does anyone know the right mg/per gallon of antibiotics for this? The disease book I have mentions antibiotics that I don't have to give my buddy but cipro is a broad spectrum antibiotic. I think I read that 20mg a gallon is the dosing rate. Can any confirm or deny this?

You can use epsom salt (1 tablespoon per 5 gals) to relieve swelling if the "popeye" is due to trauma/injury. This is sometimes the case if it's just one eye... both eyes almost always means a bacterial infection has set in. And being epsom salt is just magnesium sulfate, it's reef safe. Just be sure the epsom salt is "food grade" i.e you'll see "USP" on the box. If it doesn't work, nothing lost... move on to antibiotic treatment.

Np, but do move on to antibiotic treatment if epsom salt doesn't seem to be helping after a few days. If this is indeed an infection and treatment is delayed too long, then the fish can lose his eye.

The only other thing I can think of that causes cloudy eye is flukes.

The eyes aren't cloudy at all and the Popeye seems to get better but never fully go away
