my blue hippo has popeye. two questions, how did he get it and what can i do to get rid of it? thank you for the help.

In my experiences, popeye occurred when I first added the fish and after a week or so the swelling goes down and the eye will return to normal. Just my .02

Jet, I have a Sabae clown who has a popeye (just noticed it two days ago) until then he was healthy and happy. He is still eating but I feel so bad for him.

I gotten Popeye on a Koran Angel which I think was a secondary infection to Fin Rot. Or vice versa but I think it can be multiple factors, Stress, scratched their eye on LR, etc. Most likely stress. If you can, put the fish in a QT and use Maracyn 2 for marine tanks. Works great and cured my fish in 1 treatment (5 days) also cured the fin rot.
