porcelain crab with clownfish pair in rbta?

well the title says it. Can I keep a pair of clowns with my rbta now that the porcelain crab has moved in? The clowns used to host in it, but I moved them out to a QT for a while, and the crab took over hosting. I now would like to move the clowns back to their favorite nem (only nem) but worry about the aggression killing the crab.

has anyone kept all this together successfully?

I had one in one of my anemones -- the clown pair (( pink skunks )) were in the other one. Well, I lost the anemone that the clowns were using, so they went to the other one. Now the crab hangs out on the rocks next to the anemone, poor guy.

id keep an eye out one the crab after you add the pair back and if you see some aggression i would take the crab out asap and stick him in the QT tank for a few days and maybe get some frogspawn or a torch coral and see if the crab will host that instead of the RBTA

I was afraid of that. Would it be possible to add another nem, like a gbta and not have nem warfare? So that they would both have a nem.

I was thinking of a green one...but have been worried that they would fight.

I got the crab after the clowns were already hosting...and the crab just hung out else where. He didn't move in till I got the clowns out. I can't move him to the QT tank, I would worry about him more in there. (worse water) But my biggest concern is him getting eaten. Would clowns do that...i would hope he would move out before it came to that.

Having 2 of the same species of anemones (( color doesn't matter )) would be fine. However, that isn't going to assure that your clowns won't use both, though it will give the crab more of a chance of not being evicted.

the only reason I think it would work is that the clowns almost never leave that spot...even the nem had to move to them.

When I had my rbta and maroon clowns I add two p crabs and they did fine. The crabs mainly stayed underneath the lip of the bta and wondered out when the clowns feed the nem.
