Porcupine Puffer sick help!!

About 2 weeks ago I purchased a porcupine puffer that developed a light violet/white dime size spot on his back and within 2 days spread across his body and died. So about a week later I bought another porcupine puffer and the same exact results. I had 3 damsels and a yellow tang in a 92 gallon tank. With about 60 pounds of live rock. I tried bio bandage and that didn't work. Can anyone out there tell me what could have caused this and also what would have been the best medication for the fish? I wasn't sure it it was a lesion, fungus, bacterial infection, or something else. I could send a picture. Water levels are all good. This is a new tank. I've had it for about 7 weeks. The yellow tang is doing fine. I have sinced removed the 3 damsels thinking that might be the problem. I'd like to get another porcupine fish but I'm very afraid the same thing will happen again.

I would guess some sort of bacterial infection. If you get another, add some slime coat to the water. It's best to put fish in quarantine for a month before adding to the display tank.

What medication would you recommend for this type of bacterial infection? I already tried the bio bandage to no avail. Just curious, what does the slime coat do for the fish?

Thanks for all your help.
