Portable GFCI's??

Looking for some electrical advice...

I have an ATI Powermodule light fixture which trips GFCIs so I have not been able to install a hardwired GFCI outlet for the tank. Since I have the standard wall outlet, instead of getting an additional GFCI outlet installed in the wall, I was thinking about using a portable GFCI for everything besides my light fixture.

Also, would it be possible to connect a power strip to one of them, or would this be cause for disaster?

One issue I have with these (or at least the ones I have) is that they trip when the power goes off & must be manually reset.

Would this prevent having to manually reset after minor power outages?

My light fixture is about 4 years old

I would like to hear what people say about these. I live in an apartment and can't have a gfci installed. I was thinking something like this would be a good idea.

I use the Home Depot 6 outlet white one. It was like $20. Only downside is that it needs manual resetting in a power outage, but if you're like me and a day never goes by where you're not either at home or have a house sitter it's bit that big of a deal. If given the option originally I'd prefer an automatic reset unit but I don't want one bad enough to buy ANOTHER
