Possible Bk Mini 180 for sale...

Hey guys, I purchased a brand new BK Mini 180 a couple months ago from Premium Aquatics and it is way too large for my system. I feel that my 90g system with 5 fish is much too small for it. I am downgrading so I should have this skimmer for sale soon. It is in perfect condition and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I have ran it for maybe 4-6 weeks max. My loss is your gain as I am asking $700. This skimmer has an MSRP of $1,000. Here is a link to the product:

Haha, I think the main reason why my tanks are on the smaller side is because I'm a MH purist. I always run 400 watters and stick to what I know best. I try to get away with running a single 400w halide as electricity costs are insane. Perhaps if the Philips LED ever comes out in the US, I can try it out.

It's pretty quiet. I can barely hear it and I have a metal stand that's wide open. If you're stand is enclosed, I bet you wouldn't hear it at all.

Yeah but if you run MH lamps chances are you are not spending quite as much on electricity for your heaters. I've run all sorts of numbers on my tanks over the years and heating large amounts of water when the ambient air temperature is in the 50-60°F range is what kills my bill the most.

But that only heats it during the day what about when the lights off. I don't see much benefits of a 400w halide saving on anything electricity wise.
Anyways not going to derail this post.

Let me make it more tempting.:) I will take $600 for it. I promise, this will be as low as I go. This is basically an almost new skimmer, used for less than 2 months. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you want it, let me know. I can meet at any Bay Area LFS on a weekend.

Steal for a beast of a skimmer! If I had a bigger tank or a bigger sump, I'd be all over this.

GLWS.

I already bought the ATB 840 yesterday. As far as shipping, I'm not ready to ship it just yet but I will definitely keep you in mind. Thanks guys!

Further derailment (and a bump), yes but the ambient temp is still low during the day too for my tanks, so yeah it does help by reducing heating time during the day hours. Now as much as if I had the lights on at a night and off during the day? no. but it still does take a chunk of of the heater usage.
