Possible ich in my DT

I saw a single white bump on my eldest female clown in the main display this morning. All fish are behaving normally and still have quite the appetite. The bump is near her "forehead" and I don't see anything near her gills. Is this ich, or possibly something else? I am watching closely on everybody for another sign.

You can see it pretty good in this short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyOhA4EeW5s&feature=youtu.be

That spot is too big to be Ich.

It could be a cut, sting or damage of some sort. Also could be the beginnings of a slight bacterial infection. I would just keep an eye on it for now.

Thank you humble, I will.

Our fish are our babies and we're a bit crazy about them. I'm already going over all the possible scenarios of removing the fish, or the coral, how many hospital tanks we would need... I hope it doesn't come to any of that though :)

That does not look like ich, too large a white spot. Its something, could be bacteria or fungal.

I would not get too attached to your fish. They do die.

Clown fish are pretty hardy, very hard to kill. Check your tank parameters, do you have enough flow, water changes, temp ph etc. I had a tank lose many fish to ich but the clowns never got it. If you kill a clown fish something is wrong with the tank.

The white speck in the first post is now gone from my clown. If it was ich, I know it can take up to 28 days until I see more signs of it. I am crossing my fingers that is not ich but not jumping to conclusions. I know it can be affecting the gill tissues and hard to spot, but how long until I would see the "salty" sprinkles in masse like on these poor fish? http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2003/12/mini

Trying to do my homework on this nasty problem. Never thought I'd hit it as I QT all my fish, but it may have slipped through for not QTing long enough.

Any idea of what else it might be?

Unless you QT with copper there is going to be a chance of transfer ich. Unless its glass bottom and you QT 2 months.

I use to do QT with copper but now my local FS employs copper then puts then in low copper display tanks. They might lose fish due to that process but the ones I buy are the ones that made it through it.
