Possible new powder blue tang. Need quarantine procedures.

Any ideas guys? I know they are mega ich magnets and wanted to quarantine the fish. Currently, I am doing a hyposalinity treatment on my midas blenny due to ich and have the sg at 1.009. Would the powder blue tang have any problems being at that sg level? Thanks.

You can actually acclimate the PBT to the hypo tank. It is much easier/safer to take a fish down in SG in a short time then up into higher SG. Just take your time to ensure that he acclimates over a period of time and not just thrown right in. Keep the lights off during the acclimation to lower the stress levels of the fish. How big is the PBT and what size tank is it going into? Also, keep in mind you probably need to consider resetting your Hypo-timer if you find anything on the PBT.

I have a pbt in qt right now. Hes been there since jan 6. He is just now developing ich. I have my tank at 1.009. I'm running out at lunch to get medicine for him. He is suppose to be a birthday gift for my father in law. He has a 200g tank. has had it for yrs. But he never could keep a pbt. Im hoping it will make it.

The pbt should be around 4-5" or so and is going in a 125g tank. The q-tank has no lights and is at a sg of 1.009. Thanks for the responses.
