So I have this clam sitting in a higher flow area but it has the most light in my tank, sometimes the mantle lifts up from a "wave" so I thought maybe he was just pulling his mantle closer to the shell so that this doesnt happen as much, but now im second guessing myself. The clam in question is a 3" maxima clam. I appologize for the crappy phone pics I just wanted to throw some up as soon as I could. Thank you in advance for any replies! and happy Reefing!!!

pm is difficult to be certain of without a strong microscope and scientific expertise. if he is in high flow, move him and see if there's a diff. if you are sure it's pm, do a proper fwd. personally, doesn't look like it's pm to me. you'd expect to see shell exposed.

thank you so much for the reply! you seem to be the clam expert in these parts! I did a FW dip just to play it safe, he does look much better today, I also moved him to a lower flow area, but I feel like I sacraficed a bit of light so ill have to wait and see, but after the sand storm I had today with the new wavemaker power head addon, nothing in the tank is very happy and now im worried about a crazy algea problem. I dont know much on clams atm but do have a book that I am reading to hopefully clear things up. Its awefully scary not knowing if your clam is doing ok lol!
