possible stand problem

I have my 90g up on my stand, the stand is made for a 75/90 and i noticed tonight that there is a slight gap under the trim to the stand on the left side of the tank. i am guessing maybe 1/32nd or a 1/16th gap. it is touching solidly in all 4 corners, and the tank is level.

Will this cause any problems?

A picture would help for clarification. I don't think it would be a problem of the gab is under "the trim to the stand".

The tank needs to be evenly touching the stand in all areas or there will be undue stress on a spot that is elevated.

if i try shims between the stand and the bottom trim of the tank it will make the tank unlevel. i tried this.

If you empty the aquarium try using styrofoam or weatherstripping on the stand. It can help spread out the weight.

Standard 90s are very strong tanks. They step up to thicker glass when they go from 75 to 90. That being said, it is bad to have stress on the tank. Eventually it will fail. Probably at a seam when you are not home. I had this happen with a 55 I was using as a fuge.

Try to jack the stand up and put in some supports.

I have a 75 AGA that is the same way, I contacted AGA when it was new. AGA assured me the gap will NOT cause any problems as long as all 4 corners were touching. 2 yrs running, 2 moves and so far no problems. That being said my tank is probably failing as I type this :0 (knocking on wood).
