possible to breed eels ?

well yes and no.
I had a pair of breeding zebra eels, but never got any fry to survive past day 4. Green wolf eels have been shown a number of times to breed in captivity (not really an eels)

i was thinking the same thing on the gdm's
my question is how do you sex them?
do they change sex and if they do when would they?
i would love to breed these guys if thats possible
mike

I would start with abase group of at least 3, preferably 5. then you know have a good chance of getting a male and a female. raise thm and take it from there.

hmm , that would be a costly adventure if no one has been sucsessfull at with any real eels so far.

Frank, could you tell us more, this is awesome!
Where the eggs pelagic?.You witnessed the actual courtship/spawning?.
Of all fish larvae,I imagine(true) eels are the harder, near to impossible to raise. They have a leptacanthus larva taking very long time to develop,it is not clear wether they feed and on what.
Japanese are investing fortunes trying to crack the raising of the Anguilla eel.
