Possible to starve SPS with high nitrates/phosphates?

I just lowered the brightness of my lights by 20% and removed the green spectrum completely.

I started to feed the maximum recommended dose for rottifeast, oysterfeast and phytofeast.

I am having a hard time lowering my nitrates bellow 5ppm so I am ordering an ATS (algae turf scrubber).

I also bought some new GFO. I am currently using Fauna Marin UltraPhos GFH and I am switching to D-D RowaPhos.

Why ... It's not a lighting issue !

Now that you've been hammered enough on your closed minded, rude/dismissive tone towards one of the more well respected/productive/successful members of this community, let's get to the bottom of your issue and attempt to solve the associated problems ...

This lighting aspect/change looks good. Keep them at 20% lower, for a few weeks, and lets see if this will have any positive effect.

Please post your specific lighting values/percentages/etc.

Blatantly, this makes no sense whatsoever ... It has been told to you/documented that the paling is more than likely not from lack of nutrients, if anything nutrient related it is from elevated levels ... With all that being stated, why would you implement a feeding regime, based on the maximum recommended amount, if you're already struggling with nutrients ?!?

You're either once again dismissing all of the experienced/knowledgable advice presented to you, or you're utterly confused on the foundation principles of coral care/maintenance/troubleshooting ...

The ATS filtration philosophy is one which should be researched thoroughly before being implemented, not thrown together whilst in a jam ...

DIY ATS system, custom designed to suit a specific system, are usually better performers, FYI. Not to mention typically far less expensive.

In my opinion, this is not the time to change your filtration system, not until you have exhausted other causes, etc.

Speaking of filtration, do speak about your current philosophy/equipment ...

Excellent step in the right direction. I'm a proponent of D-Ds RowaPhos versus other brands of GFO so this should help produce more positive results in the PO4 department, tremendously.

However, it should be noted one needs to be careful in not introducing too large of a quantity and flow rate, especially during the initial implementation. This can/will have detrimental effects to the corals in the form(s) of rapidly decreasing PO4 and KH values !

+1 for the lighting for all the reasons discussed above. IME, the radions look great above tanks for several months and then there is a gradual decline in color and health. While there are some success stores with these lights, I wasn't one of them. It sucks that such an expensive light is missing in spectrum.
