my equipment is really not the greatest, i run two fluval 204s, one that is purely mechanical filtration and the other is chemical. a seaclone 100 skimmer, and 2 powerhead 201s and a powersweep

the lighting consists of 3*65 watt power compacts, with plans to upgrade to a 175watt metal halide with some sort of pc to supplentment

there are 3 blue/green reef chromis, a maroon clown, and a coral beauty in the tank presently. one cleaner shrimp, one peppermint shrimp. one serpent star

For corals: branching frogspawn, some sort of soft coral,, trupet coral, green starburust polyp, red sea xenia, regular xenia, orange zoas, purple tonga mushrooms, assortment of Actinodiscus mushrooms, green ricodia, orange monti cap. and an rbta

These pics are making me so eager to get mine set up. I'm waiting for a few things in my financial situation to clear up, but I am very encouraged by what I see.
 
chocolateblnt, Thanks for the comment and Yes I love the pendant. Was originally going to go with Hamilton's pendant but saw the aquamedic which caught my eye. A little pricey where I got it from but I'm happy with it. You're also running aquamedic right?
 
Yes definitely have the same light and I am absolutely loving it! ... It's 250 Watts of super crisp lighting ... the magnetic ballast stays cool and is nice and quiet. How much did you pay ... I got mine for $250 from www.hellolights.com
 
I thought the ballast was electric, as I was told by the salesman. Did you pay $250 total? what about shipping. I was overcharged by my own LFS - $339 plus tax = 360+. Found out days later that a local guy was selling them for 250. That's what I get for trying to help out a local fish store when I could have bought it online for cheaper as in your case. Lets just say I no longer do business with that store. It's all good.....
 
im using the same light i paid 250 and free shipping but thats a year ago, and guys today i got my asm mini, i going to put it in a tub with fishtank water so it break down a bit before put it in my tank

Yeah I have a new tank up now but it's nothing like the old 29. I hate to brag but it was an amazing 29, I don't know if I'll ever have another tank reach that level.
 
It died off.....I believe it was because the heater broke, leeching metals into the tank. I did all kinds of water changes, and added different chemical filtration but none of it helped. The tank just kept dying off. I eventually just tore it down and started over.
 
sorry about that, but im sure if you did it once you can do it again,
one question for the sps dominate tanks, how you guys keep your ph in control. my ph swings from 79.5 at night to 82.9 at day time??
