Not of your palythoa grandis, and not of your protopalythoa like huclear green and purple death type......

This thread is for palythoa only so we can see the myriad of other species of palythoa we all keep

I will start the thread by posting all of mine.

im no expert, but I would have agreed with jjmcat up until 808 posted that third pic of his.

I should have posted the thread a little differently......it ws way too obvious of a baiting.....................I think I would have woken up to 100 different pics of peoples large zoanthids

the ony reason I posted it in the first place is it was late last night and I saw the word "Paly" in like every thread I read in theis forum almost.

no biggie, but almost everything referred to as a paly by all of the top retailers, hobbyists and many up on CP are simply not "palys". They are large zoanthus.

lets see some more like 808's :)

so far we have two pics. One possibly aquacultured and the other seemingly in the wild unless that is one big fricken tank :)

Flyyyguy, are paly grandis really palys? Also, how are they distinguished... From the pics, it seems to be that the palys grow from a common base, is that right?

Not such a great pic, but I have a couple of colonies of these blue palys. They grow fast!

You can see one at the bottom center is dividing, which is a cool thing to watch.
