Majesticangelfish, AMAZING tank!! Is it the 100+ in your signature line, or a different size? You shots are just beautiful. Your critters are so colorful. And, I love the green clown goby! I have two coming next week and can't wait.

Also, is this the zeo tank?

Hi Amy, sorry for the late reply.

This is a very simple 46g bow, 4x39w T5, 15g sump/fuge, RO/DI topoff.

ZEOvit system aims to reduce nutrients, and hence the macro algae would NOT grow. This ones ZEO free:rollface:

Please note, its a joint tank (Flipturn88's too).

since I now have horses I guess I should post some pics!

This is their 20g apartment, the whole tank isn't much to look at since the color is right here where they are.

and here is their 38g home, once it's cycled and stable. I have a 10x12" fake octopus coral that I will put in there too, but it arrived broken so I'm waiting to hear back from the seller before I put it into the tank.

What kind of ponies are they? The 2nd pic looks like reidi, but not sure. But then the other one, looks like a different kind. If they are different, you're not having any problems with that?

Also, what kind of lighting do you have? Your blue shrooms look blue, and my dang ones look red with my lights.

I'm spellbound by your tank and the beautiful critters! Keep posting, the photos are great quality.

I really don't want to post now that I've seen what majesticangelfish has, and others. But, here are just a couple, though they've been in many tanks, and I re-arrange, add and take out stuff all the time. I'll get fresh pics tomorrow because I'm planting it more now and these are older ones.

hooterhead, that tall tank has potential.. it will look great once those start filling in.. also some people cant STAND it but i think fake SPS or Sponges and real gorgonians make the tank look ALOT better!.... there is a website that has some really good fakes.. i forget it but will find it later.. it like www.imagecreations.com or something like that.. ill have to find out.. anyway
broncofish, what school is this for??? for elementary school? middle school? high school? coleage [sp]???? anyway i cant wait to get my SH tank up an running with some CB Barb's

eh i like the natural look better. give it a couple months and i'll post it again. those macros are growing by the inch every day so it shouldn't take long. i'm working on more varieties as well so just give it time. patience is the key to this hobby...

Here's my Oceanic 58 that i just finished. It's a two year old coral propagation tank that has been converted to seahorse habitat. It's got a clean up crew, and a pair of spawning peppermint shrimp in it right now, horses should get order in a week or so.

wow, gorgeous tank Jason! I am wondering how you got a pair of spawning pepps? Do you have to do anything special or is it all up the shrimp?

Thanks Jessica, I'm pretty happy with it, can't wait to get the horses in it though!

Pepps are instant live food in my opinion. They are strange little creatures, I'm not sure I have the details perfect, but it goes something like this. Just after molting, they take on the female role, and are able to be fertilized while the shell is still soft. They carry the eggs on there little cillia like legs under their tail. You will notice a mucus looking substance back there instead of all the little legs, this is the egg mass. It will turn a greenish color before they are ready to hatch. When ready, "she" shakes them off her tail, and you get hundreds of baby shrimp (food).

Now for the strange part, as her shell hardens, she, goes HE, and the other one will molt, giving him (now her) the soft shell, and it will now carry eggs until the other one molts, and they switch again. They don't really change sex, they both have what they need to take on either role, and the molting process determines who does what. Almost any two peppermint or skunk cleaner shrimp will start this shortly after being introduced to a tank. These started as soon as the first one molted, less than two weeks from when I got them.

In short, I get babies out of these two about every 11 to 13 days like clockwork. You can raise the babies, it's not too difficult and there is a book called "How to raise and train your peppermint shrimp" that details the process (available on Amazon.com). The little ones will survive for several days just off their yolk sack, and make a nutritious treat for coral, fish and seahorses.

That was long winded, but I hope it helps.

Jason
