The problem is with a blue tang, but first my tank. I have many tanks but this one is a 75G bow with about 125lb live rock and a 3 inch sand bed. It is about 1 1/2 years old, and am just starting to put corals in[softies and sps frags]. I have had a lawnmower blenny in there for 8 months and is doing fine. I then put a lunar wrass[before corals] which jumped out after 2 months. Then a potter angel went in, within a week it had got ich bad, I coulnt catch him quick enough and he died. The blenny has shown no sighs so i left him alone. It has now been 3 months since then. Three weeks ago I wanted to add more fish. Bought a 3 inch blue tang,4inch sohaltang and a dragon wrasse. I use a clean QT tank for the blue tang and the wrasse. I put the sohal in a hospital since he is more agressive. Waited 2weeks before adding the blue tang and wrasse, They looked fine blenny had a little prob with wrasse becouse they look simular. blue tang was loving it for 2 days till i put sohal in at first they were cool, swimming with one another, not aggresive at all. then the tang got ich on day three and i was at work. my wife called me and sayed he has ick and sohal is bitting and chasing him but he would stop unless she was standing there , so she fish sat for me[what a saint] but she works nights and had to go in shower and left then for 5 min till i got home . I got home 3 hours later and was looking for blue guy and he was no were to be found by this time she was out and looking with. With flashlights in hand we were puzzled till the cat was trying to get behind and there he was all dry and had some dust on him..but wait hes still breathin!! I grab him with a little struggle and put him in sump....hes alive. Now to QT tank I wait a day and treat him with formalin and malichit green which are proven from my experiance.{hypo never worked for me or others i now, by the ime you get it to hypo it is almost too later [IMO]]. He cleared up overnight ,used it for another day and he was fine, eating and not scared.
None of the other fish have shown a sigh of it so i figure tank is fine. I pull the sohal and put the blue in and now looks like ich but under the skin it looks like it i has a few bumps under the skin. Will get pics up tomarrow lights are out now. Lawn mower went through 2 fish now withnever having it. and nobody has showed sighns. O i almost forgot i had a uv lying around so i put that on with new bulb[for now, will take off}
