Post pictures of your large soft corals!

Thanks, ultraxr! Much appreciated. There are a few more pictures in my gallery, not only of that tank but the 60gal cube I have, too. I'm definitely a softie reefkeeper. Only one SPS in the tank and it was a freebie with other zoanthid frags I bought.

A toadstool I had for a long time. Unfortunately it died in a tank move :(

What's the name of this one. It's beautiful.

A few from my tank in progress- sorry for the poor image quality...
Sarcophyton. Currently about 16" fully expanded. It has split itself into 4 pieces over the last year, had it not, it would be well over 2 feet across. The mother colony has been in captivity since 1987.
Toad.jpg

Pulsing Sinularia; one of two colonies in this tank, all grown from a 2" single branch I got at a swap 3 or 4 years ago. This colony is 24" across when fully open- currently bends at the top of the water.
PulsingSinularia.jpg

Green Polyp Toadstool. Not a monster yet, but has grown from a 1/2" nub to about 8" across in about 2 years- slow grower.
GreenPolyp.jpg

Heliopora- one of my favorite softies. Ive had this about 4 years, and it has grown 4 or 5 times its original time. Now forms a few small islands above the water line.

And a section of my tank that has many of my softies all together

That's a great looking Heliopora. Under what conditions does yours extend its polyps?

Thanks; normally it extends in the evening, after the lights have been on at least 8 hours or so. It's sitting about 8" under a 250w mh and right between a return and a circulation pump- it loves intense light and super high water flow.

great thread! i'm not gaining interest into softies and lps. i'm looking for ideas/frags of unusual or bright eye catching softies :)
here's a couple of mine....thanks to nick_kun for the great photos!

I need a frag of that Heliopora badly have the most perfect spot for it

Gary, its almost impossible for me to frag; the skeleton is too dense to safely use fragging shears (if it cuts at all, it winds up smashing pieces apart), and its spread over 4 Large pieces of rock that I cant move without dismantling nearly 1/3 of the tank. If I do frag it at some point, I will give you first dibs for sure; maybe for a piece of that Nephthea once it grows out... ;)

Those green leather man there sweet. Mine looks the best with the blues sure would love to see your whole tank under actinics.

Aaron,
you have a deal that Nepthea is finicky to say the least and is growing slowly and will be a while before I would even feel comfortable fragging it
