Post-processing (PP) techniques? (w/pics)

Thanks a bunch Blazer for more than just answering my question. I am definitely a step by step type of guy when it comes to CS2 and that nailed everything down for me. I have been using Photoshop now for about a year and half and there are just so many different ways to do the same thing. I really like your idea of using an overlay mask and using that to dodge and burn instead of doing it to the original.

Thanks and hopefully I'll be able to post something up soon once I get a decent macro lens. I am more of a B&W guy right now with landscapes.
