what extra precautions/help can i provide post-split?

we've done a 10%, new charcoal, taking extra care with salinity.

what else? can i start feeding him? (split sunday we think)

My first and only GBTA split a couple of weeks ago. I did not do anything to the tank. However, I would not suspect that a 10% or replacing the carbon (carbon...not charcoal right?) would be detrimental.

I hope your clone survives. Mine did. Now I am figuring out a way to remove it from my tank ;-)

There's nothing to do other then give it time to heal. I would wait a few weeks before attempting to feed, the mouth needs to completely heal.

i agree with Criccio. But i wait a month or so before trying to feed, just to be safe.

Im up to 8 rtba's. A big meal and a 40 + percent water change will get them every time.

you dont have any problems with anything else after the water change?

how long between splits do you like to plan for?

you do the big meal, then that afternoon the water change?

never had a problem with a water change, just make sure you have good water i guess?

i use this method about every 4 or 5 months.

Something like that, feed silversides in the moring, and change the water that afternoon or evening, i dont think it is critical. its more important that you do a large change of water.
