South Africa aliwal shoals at 45m deep
It was one of my saddest days when the fish died
Had you payed for it yet, or was it collected for you at no price?
Had you owned it enough to start see it eating frozen foods?

I never payed for the fish only the boat petrol money , gas bottle refill ...
It was eating for almost a week pellets and flakes after that it was lying on the tank bottom and 2 weeks later it was dead
Here is a bad picture of my male Pseudanthias hawaiiensis that came from Pacific Island Aquatics. Eats like a champ. It is still in QT and being maintained at 73F. I also have a Odontanthias fuscipinnus that was collected by the late great Rob Lower but it is being camera shy today.

My lfs had 6 black tangs, all small, at once. Still has 5 as of last week. They also had a Tomini tang 2 months ago, so I don't think they are that rare.
Collected @ 70ft. Some of the deep reef Hawaiian fish prefer cooler temperatures.
No idea.
So what exactly are you proposing I do? Most fish have their swim bladders decompressed either by a quick poke with a hollow bore needle or are brought up slowly to the surface. I watched one collector in HI skillfully needle dozens of fish when he took me out on some dives with him. Just because I don't know how it was decompressed doesn't mean it wasn't done properly. It has no buoyancy issues, was bought from a reputable vendor (they are a sponsor here) & is doing quite well for a fish with a poor
survival record. I can assure you I have done my research.
Hahahaha you say they had 6 black tangs then a tomini tang and say that makes the tomini tang not rare??? THEY HAVE BLACK TANGS! LOL i'm just messing with you but in my experience tomini tangs don't seem to be rare.
Seen a Stone fish at a LFS in Ohio First time ever! Don't have a picture but had warnings on it.
About four years I saw clarion Angels. Not Ultra Rare , but the number together was probably only seen a handful of times ever. It was in Dublin, Ca. They had 40-50 in transit from Mexico to Japan. They were selling a couple though. I think they were asking a discounted price of $1600. Lol ! Was an amazing site.
