Post your reflection images

nice dark royal blue sky :) looks like a top notch spring snowboarding day. did you use a polarized filter to get the sky like that? what camera do you use?

We did do a little "skiing" -- just on the heels of our boots, though the air was a bit thin and got winded -- was at about 10,000 feet.

I just had an UV filter on. I was using my Nikon D60.

Hey Roger - yaeh, WA is an amazing place. I remember when i was living there I think Mt Baker had like 90+ feet of snow. They had to apparently dig trenches for the Ski lifts to run!! Personally I was more south so was a Rainer most of the time. I may be wrong, but I think Baker and Shuksun are in the same area. From what I remember Shuksan is touted as being one of the most photographed mountains in the world. Have no idea where that stat came from or if it is true, but it is a spectacular place. I'll have to go back into my slide archive and see what I can find.

I may be wrong, but I think the mtn you have there is Shuksan. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=mt+shuksan&aq=0&aqi=g7g-m3&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=927f32381456711a

yea in the late 90's baker had a epic record amount of snow. sounds you are much more knowledgeable of the area. believe baker has two peeks.. this isn't the summit but a slightly lower peak. didn't know it by it's name. the point where this was photographed is called something like photographers lake.. there were hundred or more guys out with tripods pushing for the best shot. i wheeled in there for 5 minutes snapped a shot and got out of there. spectacular view to say the least :)

It was fun. And we were very high up, think it took about 5 hours to get up there, and about 4 vicodine -- I had a herniated disc -- but well worth it.

Do you all sell them anywhere or is photography just a hobby? I noticed some had the copyright symbol on them.
Beautiful photography!!!!!!!!!!

I have stuff at www.greene-art.com (I think my red house is linked to it). I know Beerguy has a site too. I'm sure a lot of us do. For me it is fun, and I sell sometimes, been published a few times, but my "real" job keeps me plenty busy and makes me a lot more money :). I need to update my site actually. Thanks for adding to my "to do list" (lol).

PS: I'm loving this thread!! Great photos and sharing of experiences and places. Awesome :).

Rich - that Loon shot is awesome! What lens where you using for that one?

I got this image (and a slew of others) but we were on a backpacking trip and I opted to only take the 24-105. I was sure wishing I had my 300mm (for that matter I was wishing I owned a longer lens...though I doubt I would have taken it backpacking anyway).

Sorry the exif is stripped. For the loon shot I was using my 300 2.8 and TC20EII with my D3 on a tripod with wimberly gimbal head. The best thing about that picture is that the water really looked like that. The green hue is a reflection from the surrounding trees. The only thing I did was to remove a twig that was floating ahead of the loon.

We spend 2 weeks on Green Lake in Maine every year and I never get tired of loon/eagle pics. Whereas that shot was taken from land, I have gotten some really nice shots with the D3/200F2 hand held from a kayak. The 200 really smooths out the background and fits in the kayak better than the 300.

Thanks to everyone for posting there sites, sorry for adding things to your to do list also :)

i got inspired to take some reflection shots after seeing this thread, i dont have much nature scenery around Miami, but i do have city life, i just took these a few hours ago.
